Since early in 2011 HICS has been supplied under contract to HCC by Updata Infrastructure Ltd.
Whilst Updata are responsible for the core network of the HICS service, including the data centres and the connections to the Internet, the first line support for the service is provided through the SITSS Service Desk. (Contact details are opposite.) It is the SITSS Service Desk that you should always contact in the first instance whether you are reporting a possible fault or seeking advice.
If you should experience a fault with your connection it could be an Updata engineer (or possibly a BT or Virgin engineer … depending on who supplies your connection into the local exchange) who will visit your school … although a visit isn’t always necessary.
